Bio:

I was born August, 23rd 1983, in Bakersfield, California.  My first absolutely clear memory, from 1987, at the age of four, reveals a curious boy with a basketball in his hand, staring up at a seemingly insurmountable task, ten feet in the air. “The ball goes all the way up there?” I asked myself.

Armed with a “so be it” attitude and all the time in the world, I began to try to make a basket. The second try found its way over the iron and through the net.

From that moment, until well after high school and easily into my twenties, a worn basketball was as commonplace to my daily wardrobe as my shirt and shoes, which most likely adorned the globally recognizable Michael Jordan “Jumpman” logo.

Jumping forward, with my childhood dream of playing professional basketball clearly in the rear view mirror going into my mid-twenties, I delved into the workforce, seeking rewarding challenges and financial freedom. Despite my Bachelor’s Degree in Global Security and Intelligence from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, I struggled professionally, unable to find my rightful place.

Capitalizing on my strengths, being creativity, problem solving, confidence, positivity and drive, I focused on writing a novel, titled “Compelled,” which was published in early 2020. Using this as a springboard, along with my sales acumen, I went from introductory sales rep to Store Manager at a reputable tile company in less than two years, finally tasting the financial freedom I had craved my entire life, being one who does enjoy the finer things, and indulging my loved ones, especially my mother and sister.

Along with the feeling of accomplishment and success, being a store manager allowed me to do something I’ve always felt passionate about. Helping people. I was now in a position to enrich others’ lives and help good people provide for themselves and their loved ones. I’ve always thought of myself as a very positive and inspired, inspiring person, and the feeling I get when I help and motivate others is unlike any other.

The more I have the more I can help others, and that’s all the motivation I need.

Being a new Denver resident, and looking for something other than work to occupy my mind, I focused on my physique and strength. For over a decade, I have prided myself on being a thin, strong man, with an extensive knowledge of the body. Recently, my drive has been significantly amplified by my results from daily stretching and pull-ups. Using this newfound strength and vigor, I wanted to take the next step and gain the ever-elusive six pack abdomen, a staple and benchmark of the “fit” man or woman. After months of hard work and commitment, my goal was achieved, thanks in main part to my studies of Bruce Lee and his Kung Fu teachings.

Since this enlightenment of sorts, I have achieved new fitness and physique heights that I never before thought possible. This prompted me to seek a photographer to take a few pictures of me and my body to submit to modeling agencies, looking for new ways to make money and expand my horizons. Within one day of getting the photos taken and submitting them to a few agencies, I received attention and now am looking forward to a new career and chapter of my life. One where my reach and ability to inspire others can reach new prominence.

Anyone who knows me, knows that I am very passionate about a certain few topics. The top of the list is my family. My father, mother, three brothers, one sister, and many nieces and nephews hold a special place in my heart. I want my successes to inspire and help them realize that anything is possible with hard work, positivity, and a fearless “can do” dreamer spirit.

Other subjects on my preferred list are Michael Jordan, Bruce Lee, the Miami Dolphins, the Chicago Cubs, reading, writing, and the infinitely interesting topic of Greek Mythology.

One day in Prescott, Arizona, in my early twenties, circa 2004, I was wandering around an outdoor swap meet looking at a random table of old books. For some strange reason, I was drawn to a certain literary work, it’s colorful title page and intriguing cover art calling to me. The book was titled “Gods, Demigods, and Monsters: An Encyclopedia of Greek Mythology,” by Bernard Evslin, first printed in 1975. Perhaps it was the new high budget film “Troy,” starring Brad Pitt and Diane Kruger, recently released in theatres, which prompted my interest. Or perhaps it was the half-man, half-horse creature readying a spear throw. Maybe the bow wielding God? seemingly holding the sun in his hand, or the winged creature with the body of a lion and the head of an eagle? Whatever the reason may have been, I picked up the book and observed the unfamiliar subject, skimming the material for a name I recognized. As limited as my knowledge may have been at the time, I did know that Brad Pitt was playing the role of Achilles, apparently a warrior of some sort. I jumped to the front of the encyclopedia searching for the name, unable to find it.

“Certainly a complete volume of Greek Myth would have an entry of Achilles in it, wouldn’t it?” I thought. I put the book back down on the table, content on giving up on my sudden query and getting back to my aimless shopping. Thankfully, I drew the book back toward me and searched again for the Achilles entry.

My life would never be the same.

Not only did I find the Achilles entry, it seemed to profoundly change me from that day forward. The Achilles description was over a page long, at least tripling the length of most other entries. It described the Greek prince as the supreme warrior in all antiquity and all literature, period. The son of a king and an immortal goddess, Achilles and his small army, the Myrmidon, were an absolute wrecking crew on the battlefield. Armed with a nearly impenetrable hide of godly skin, and a war cry that could be heard from Mount Olympus, “even the bravest scattered like sheep.” Evslin continues, “He was beautiful to look upon as he moved in the fatal ballet of sword-stroke and spear-thrust.” Since that moment, I have continually and relentlessly studied Greek Myth, its heroes, Gods, monsters, fantastic stories and wonderfully instructive tales, incorporating the lessons within into my life and personality.

It is this fascination of Achilles that has brought me to this point in my undeniably interesting and eventful life. As a confident man, experienced and well versed in many fields, I will continue to learn and help others in an attempt to be remembered after I’m gone, as a symbol and bravado and liveliness, to inspire others in the future, just as the mighty heroes in the ancient Greek tales have done for three millennia.
